Where Are They Now: Poppy Lofting

Where Are They Now - Poppy Lofting

At QE, we take pride in celebrating the achievements of our alumni, and Poppy's story is one that continues to inspire. A former Deputy Head Girl who left QE in 2019, Poppy has consistently demonstrated determination, passion, and a desire to make a difference.

While studying History at the University of Reading, Poppy embraced every opportunity to grow and explore her interests. She balanced her academic commitments with rowing and her involvement in the Oxford University Air Squadron, where she cultivated leadership skills and a love for aviation.

Her passion for aviation became the cornerstone of her career. Poppy started as a Flight Operations Coordinator at Sloane Helicopters before advancing to the role of Risk and Security Manager. Each step showcased her dedication and ability to thrive in high-pressure environments.

Earlier this year, Poppy returned to QE to share her experiences with our students, focusing on her remarkable fundraising journey. Her visit left a lasting impression, offering a firsthand account of how determination and hard work can open doors to incredible opportunities.

Now, Poppy has achieved yet another milestone. Last week, she completed a gruelling 100km trek across the Sahara Desert to raise funds for the Children’s Air Ambulance—a cause close to her heart. This extraordinary feat not only tested her physical and mental endurance but also raised over £3000 to support life-saving services for children.

Poppy’s journey, from her time at QE to her recent triumph in the Sahara, is a testament to her unwavering commitment to making a positive impact in the world. We are immensely proud of her achievements and know she will continue to inspire others to aim high and give back.

Congratulations, Poppy, on this phenomenal accomplishment!
