Where Are They Now: Ella Deighton

Where Are They Now - Ella Deighton

This Wednesday, we're thrilled to spotlight Ella, a remarkable alumna whose journey exemplifies the lasting impact of a supportive educational environment.

Ella’s story with QE began when she joined us for her GCSEs, followed by her A Levels and BTEC qualifications. During her time here, she embraced every opportunity, excelling academically while also making a name for herself in sports. Her hard work and determination paid off, paving the way to Newcastle University, where she continued her studies in Psychology.

But Ella didn’t just focus on her academics at university—she also brought her love for hockey to new heights, captaining the university's 1st XI team. Balancing a rigorous academic schedule with athletic commitments was no small feat, yet Ella’s QE-honed discipline and drive helped her succeed in both.

Inspired by her own experiences and the invaluable support she received from QE, Ella chose to give back to the community that played a vital role in shaping her path. Today, she’s come full circle, returning to QE not as a student, but as an educator. As a Psychology teacher, Miss Deighton is now here to support and inspire the next generation, passing on her passion and dedication to her own students.

We’re beyond proud to welcome back Miss Deighton and to witness the inspiring legacy she’s building within our community. Welcome home, Ella!
