Where Are They Now - Clarke Doughney
Clarke began his QE journey in 2018, leaving in 2022 with A-Levels in Double Business and Sport. From the very start, his passion for sports was evident, and his dedication has since taken him across the globe, shaping an incredible career in both cricket and football.
After finishing his studies at QE, Clarke embarked on an unforgettable adventure in Melbourne, Australia, where he spent seven months playing cricket. Immersing himself in the competitive Australian cricket scene, he honed his skills, gained invaluable experience, and built connections that would fuel his future aspirations.
Returning to the UK, Clarke channelled his love for sports into entrepreneurship, launching a Sports Exchange agency aimed at helping athletes explore international opportunities. At the same time, he pursued an Electrical & Mechanical Engineering apprenticeship, demonstrating his drive to build a diverse and dynamic career.
Clarke’s commitment to sport remains unwavering. He currently plays Premier League cricket in England, competing at an elite level, and transitions to Semi-Pro football during the winter months. His ability to balance two demanding sports at such a high level is a testament to his talent, discipline, and relentless work ethic.
This summer, we are thrilled to welcome Clarke back to QE—not as a student, but as a cricket coach! His journey from student to mentor is a full-circle moment, and we know his expertise and experience will be invaluable to our aspiring cricketers.
Clarke’s story is an inspiration to all at QE, proving that with passion, perseverance, and dedication, the possibilities are endless. We can’t wait to see the impact he’ll have on our cricket programme and look forward to cheering him on in his continued sporting and professional journey!
